P+S Recruitment are pleased to be working on behalf of our clients, who are currently seeking an Electrical Technician to join their team in Cambridge on a full-time temporary basis for 6-12 weeks.
Job Summary
The main role of this assignment is to assist with the electrical assembly aspect of Control Systems. To assemble, service and test components/modules specified in the production of Control Systems and to understand and use associated test equipment and tools.
Responsibilities
- Understand and, at all times, comply with the instructions/requirements specified in published company Manufacturing Quality Systems and associated procedure documentation.
- Read/understand the content of electrical schematic/wiring diagrams and assist in the planning of cable, tray and component layout.
- Assemble/operate test equipment, diagnose component/system/procedural faults and take the necessary remedial action.
- Operate/use equipment provided within the production area and report any faults arising.
- Act as a member of a designated production team, as required.
- Maintain a high level of personal discipline in the area of timekeeping, work performance and general conduct.
- Maintain a high level of housekeeping in the production area at all times.
- Any other delegated responsibilities as instructed by Line Management.
Person Specification
- Qualified Electrician with recognised formal training.
- City and Guilds in Electrical Installation and 16th/17th edition.
- Understanding of Wellhead Control Panel layout, assembly and testing.
- Proven track record in small panel assembly.
- Manual handling training.
- Lifting and slinging training, if appropriate.
- Safety awareness training.
- COSHH training.
- Risk assessment training.
- Willingness to adjust personal schedule to benefit production demands.
