Job Description: Electrical Design Engineer
A global leader in advanced photonics technologies is looking for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to support the development of next‑systems used across industries including food and beverage, composites, and industrial processing.
This is an excellent opportunity for a senior‑level engineer who enjoys both hands‑on design work and collaborating with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑performance solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the electrical design of new equipment and systems.
- Produce and maintain electrical schematics and documentation using EPLAN.
- Design, modify and support electrical and electronic circuits for new product development.
- Support the development of next‑power supply systems.
- Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure technical requirements are met.
- Provide technical support for existing products and assist with troubleshooting activities.
- Support customers and colleagues with occasional site visits and training activities.
Requirements
- A degree (or equivalent qualification) in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
- Experience in electrical design, ideally using EPLAN.
- A strong understanding of power electronics.
- Experience fault‑finding electrical and electronic circuits.
- Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.
- A collaborative approach and the ability to work independently.
- Willingness to travel occasionally to support customers and projects.
Desirable Experience
- Previous experience working within industrial equipment, automation, power supplies, or special‑purpose machinery.
- Experience supporting products throughout their lifecycle.
- Senior‑level engineering experience with the ability to lead electrical design activities.
- Working Conditions
- 37.5 hours per week on site (with 15 hours remote work per month allowance) Monday to Friday.
- No Visa sponsorship on offer.
