Job Description: Electrical Design Engineer

A global leader in advanced photonics technologies is looking for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to support the development of next‑systems used across industries including food and beverage, composites, and industrial processing.

This is an excellent opportunity for a senior‑level engineer who enjoys both hands‑on design work and collaborating with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑performance solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the electrical design of new equipment and systems.
  • Produce and maintain electrical schematics and documentation using EPLAN.
  • Design, modify and support electrical and electronic circuits for new product development.
  • Support the development of next‑power supply systems.
  • Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure technical requirements are met.
  • Provide technical support for existing products and assist with troubleshooting activities.
  • Support customers and colleagues with occasional site visits and training activities.

Requirements

  • A degree (or equivalent qualification) in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
  • Experience in electrical design, ideally using EPLAN.
  • A strong understanding of power electronics.
  • Experience fault‑finding electrical and electronic circuits.
  • Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.
  • A collaborative approach and the ability to work independently.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to support customers and projects.

Desirable Experience

  • Previous experience working within industrial equipment, automation, power supplies, or special‑purpose machinery.
  • Experience supporting products throughout their lifecycle.
  • Senior‑level engineering experience with the ability to lead electrical design activities.
  • Working Conditions
  • 37.5 hours per week on site (with 15 hours remote work per month allowance) Monday to Friday.
  • No Visa sponsorship on offer.
