InnoTECH Staffing is partnering with an innovative deep-tech startup in Cambridge, MA to hire a dynamic Business Operations Manager who will play a critical role in scaling a breakthrough technology company poised for major growth. This is a rare opportunity to work side-by-side with the CEO and executive leadership team to build the operational engine behind a company developing next-generation refrigeration technology with global impact.

The company has already transformed its proprietary technology into a commercial-scale refrigerator prototype and is actively collaborating with a major multinational beverage company to develop an advanced beverage cooling platform. As the organization enters its next growth phase — expanding to approximately 15 full-time employees and increasing its public, investor, and commercial visibility — they are seeking a highly capable operations leader who thrives in fast-paced startup environments and enjoys building systems from the ground up.

This role is ideal for someone who loves solving problems, creating structure from ambiguity, and wearing multiple hats. You’ll have the opportunity to influence company strategy, establish scalable internal processes, and help shape the future culture and operations of a venture-backed startup tackling infrastructure technology that touches billions of lives worldwide.

The ideal candidate is an experienced startup generalist who can seamlessly transition between high-level strategic initiatives and day-to-day operational execution. One moment you may be coordinating investor communications or leading a website rebrand; the next, you may be managing executive schedules, streamlining grant administration, or selecting key service providers. This position offers exceptional exposure across every area of the business and strong long-term growth potential as the company scales.

What You’ll Do

  • Partner directly with the CEO and executive team to drive operational excellence across the organization, including:
    • Leading high-impact special projects such as:
      • Company policy development and documentation
      • Building scalable internal templates and workflows
      • Website migration and brand modernization
      • Marketing campaigns, media outreach, and press tours
      • Vendor and service provider selection (legal, accounting, recruiting, etc.)
      • Preparation of fundraising and investor materials for future capital raises
    • Managing critical weekly operations, including:
      • Invoices, accounts payable, and expense tracking
      • Executive calendars, travel coordination, and scheduling
      • Legal, HR, and compliance activities
      • Grant administration and reporting
      • Investor updates, stakeholder communications, and presentation preparation
      • Oversight of external vendors and partners
      • Office and R&D facility operations
    • Building and implementing scalable business processes that enable the company to grow efficiently
    • Acting as a trusted operational partner and problem-solver across all aspects of the business

What You’ll Bring

  • 3+ years of experience in business operations, startup operations, chief of staff, administration, or a similar role
  • Startup experience strongly preferred
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with executives, investors, employees, and external stakeholders
  • A proactive, hands-on mindset with the ability to manage both strategic initiatives and tactical responsibilities
  • Experience supporting executive leadership teams
  • Ability to thrive in an evolving, fast-moving startup environment
  • Strong problem-solving instincts and a bias toward process improvement
  • Sufficient technical curiosity and understanding to work effectively within a deep-tech environment involving hardware engineering, chemistry, and physics

Nice to Have

  • Experience with accounting or financial systems
  • Human resources or recruiting experience
  • Investor relations exposure
  • Previous experience directly supporting a CEO or senior executive team

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive salary range of $100,000–$130,000, commensurate with experience
  • Meaningful employee stock option plan with strong upside potential
  • Comprehensive benefits package including:
    • 60% employer-covered medical premiums for employees and dependents
    • 100% employer-paid dental and vision coverage
    • Unlimited PTO with a strong encouragement to recharge and take vacation
    • 401(k) plan
    • 12 weeks paid parental bonding leave after one year of employment
