We are assisting an exciting, established and highly regarded bespoke joinery company in their search for a talented CAD Technician to join their incredibly knowledgeable team. Based in South London, this is a very exciting CAD Technician opportunity to work on high quality bespoke joinery projects, from inception through to completion. In this role, you will be collaborating closely with property owners, architects, designers, and skilled craftspeople; helping to bring their ideas to life. Whether you are a time served cabinet maker, or a bespoke joiner (with good CAD skills), who might be seeking a role which is more ‘off the tools’, or a dedicated CAD Technician with experience gained from within a joinery, or cabinet making environment – this could be of interest to you.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Produce accurate 2D CAD drawings for bespoke joinery and fitted furniture projects
  • Translate design concepts into clear, workshop‑ready manufacturing drawings
  • Work closely with all stakeholders to ensure designs are practical and buildable
  • Update drawings in line with client comments, site conditions, and production requirements
  • Support material, ironmongery, and component scheduling where required
  • Conduct and assist with site surveys, technical detailing, and problem‑solving throughout the project lifecycle
  • Maintain drawing standards, version control, and organised project documentation

Required experience and professional attributes:

  • Previous experience as a CAD Technician, Draughtsperson, or similar technical design role – gained from a bespoke joinery environment
  • An in depth understanding of the production characteristics found in softwoods, MDF, and hardwoods
  • A background in bespoke joinery, cabinetry, furniture, interiors, or manufacturing would be highly advantageous
  • Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD (experience with SolidWorks, SketchUp, or similar 3D software is a bonus)
  • Excellent technical drawing skills with a sharp eye for detail and accuracy
  • Good understanding of joinery construction methods, materials, and manufacturing processes
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments
