At Howdens, we take pride in delivering high-quality kitchen worktops to our customers. As a leader in the kitchen industry, we are committed to excellence in both our products and our people. We are now looking for a CAD Technician to join our 24/7 production team at our Solid Surface Manufacturing Site in Normanton, Wakefield. In this role, you will transform templates into accurate technical drawings using industry-specific CAD software. These drawings will form the blueprint for the manufacture of our premium kitchen worktops. Strong communication skills are essential, as you will work closely with colleagues across departments as well as contractors on-site to support smooth operations.

Location: Normanton

Contract Type: Full-Time – Permanent

Shift: Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm

What will you be doing as a CAD Technician:

  • Preparing and producing technical drawings using industry-specific CAD software in line with the planning schedule
  • Conducting compliance checks on existing templates and drawings
  • Liaising with subcontractors and main contractors on-site
  • Working collaboratively with the production department to resolve technical issues
  • Adhering to health and safety requirements, company quality standards, machine output expectations, and housekeeping protocols
  • Running and updating reports and order-tracking systems

What do you need to qualify for the CAD Technician:

  • Experience using AutoCAD or similar CAD software
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and good numerical ability
  • A positive communication style and the ability to build effective working relationships
  • Initiative and an innovative approach to problem-solving
  • Solid Surface manufacturing experience (desirable but not essential)
