Our client is seeking a CAD Design Engineer to join a fast‑paced, modern manufacturing environment supporting the growing UK leisure vehicle market. You will be responsible for producing high-quality 3D CAD models and manufacturing drawings across a diverse product range including caravans, motorhomes, and holiday homes.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and maintain accurate 3D CAD models and detailed engineering drawings.
- Deliver innovative, practical design solutions with a focus on weight, cost, and manufacturability.
- Ensure designs meet industry standards and agreed timescales.
- Support engineering change processes (ECR/ECO).
- Collaborate with designers and engineers to support new product development.
- Contribute to continuous improvement, modularity, and standardisation initiatives.
Skills & Experience
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a CAD design role (transport, automotive, marine, aerospace, or similar).
- Strong knowledge of 3D CAD systems (PTC Creo/Windchill; other systems considered).
- Experience producing drawings to BS 8888.
- Understanding of engineering change management.
- Strong problem‑solving, communication, and time‑management skills.
Qualifications
- Degree in Engineering, CAD, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent experience).
