Job Overview
Production Inspection Operative (Shift Patroller) – Tunstead Quarry, Buxton, Derbyshire.
Commute from Manchester, Sheffield, Stockport, Macclesfield, Chesterfield, Stoke‑on‑Trent and surrounding areas.
Responsibilities
- Patrol stone processing plants to monitor performance and identify issues early.
- Act quickly on faults to minimise downtime and maintain output.
- Support operators in achieving shift KPIs.
- Carry out planned and proactive inspections.
- Assist with mechanical maintenance and fault finding.
- Ensure conveyor systems and plant equipment are operating safely and efficiently.
- Complete clear and accurate shift reports.
- Work to the highest safety standards, contributing to a zero‑harm environment.
Qualifications
- Experience in an industrial, manufacturing or heavy plant environment.
- Strong safety‑first attitude.
- Confidence working independently and as part of a team.
- Proactive, problem‑solving mindset.
- IT and basic report‑writing skills.
- Knowledge of crushing, screening or washing processes (advantageous).
- Experience with mobile or fixed plant equipment (advantageous).
- Basic mechanical understanding and fault‑finding skills (advantageous).
- Familiarity with maintenance systems and reporting (advantageous).
- Shift Pattern
4 on (2 days / 2 nights) / 4 off rotation. Overtime available.
