We are looking for a Project Planner to join our Engineering & Bid Team within the UK business. You will be responsible for creating and maintaining robust project schedules for both live engineering projects and competitive bids, supporting successful delivery from design through to commissioning.
You will work closely with engineering, procurement, production, and commercial teams to ensure activities are logically planned, risks are understood, and progress is clearly reported. This role is key to ensuring project control, schedule confidence, and strong bid competitiveness.
Planning for Live Engineering Projects- Develop, maintain, and update integrated schedules covering engineering, design, procurement, manufacturing, and commissioning activities.
- Coordinate with discipline leads (engineering, design, procurement, production, quality, and subcontractors) to gather accurate progress updates.
- Monitor schedule performance and highlight variances, risks, and required corrective actions.
- Assist project managers with resource planning and workload forecasting across engineering teams.
- Work closely with the Bid Manager and engineering leads to build realistic and competitive bid schedules.
- Develop planning models that reflect technical scope, constraints, risks, and proposed delivery methodologies.
- Support risk analysis and scenario modelling to improve bid robustness.
- Facilitate internal schedule reviews with engineering, procurement, and commercial stakeholders.
- Integrate subcontractor and supplier schedules into the master plan.
- Create, maintain, and update detailed project schedules using tools such as MS Project, Primavera P6, or equivalent.
- Identify the logical sequencing of tasks, dependencies, milestones, and critical paths.
- Ensure schedules reflect realistic durations, resource availability, and delivery constraints.
- Create and maintain planning dashboards, S‑curves, milestone trackers, and resource histograms.
- Provide weekly and monthly schedule reports to the Engineering & Bid Team Manager and project stakeholders.
- Identify planning risks and develop mitigation options.
- Manage schedule baselines, change logs, and planning assumptions in line with internal processes.
