Fire – Engineer or Senior Engineer

The Role
- Focus on the fire safety design of buildings.
- Work with colleagues within Hoare Lea as part of a multidisciplinary team and with long‑term external clients.
- Understand UK regulations and design guidance.
- Integrate other construction professionals’ requirements into design.
- Ensure open communication among all project team members, providing feedback efficiently.
- Attend design team meetings, design workshops, client meetings and site meetings.
- Travel to clients or projects in the UK and occasionally internationally.
- Apply software analysis tools—evacuation, smoke and fire modelling, heat radiation models and structural fire modelling.
What We Are Looking For
- Experience working within a fire engineering consultancy role.
- Relevant degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Building Services, Maths, Architecture, or Physics, with a keen interest in Fire Engineering, and good technical knowledge in fire safety design.
- IT literacy with a working understanding of fire modelling software analysis tools.
- Excellent communication skills and a desire to work in a team environment.
- Ability and commitment to deliver effectively to demanding timescales, with good organisational and planning skills.
