An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Cost Engineer to join a high-profile, nationally significant infrastructure programme. Working within an established Integrated Project Controls team, you will play a key role in delivering robust cost management, forecasting, and performance reporting across a complex, multi-billion-pound project environment. As part of a centre of excellence for project controls, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate cost and forecast information, supporting project delivery teams with reliable performance data, and contributing to informed decision-making across the programme.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce and maintain accurate cost and forecast information aligned to Cost Breakdown Structures (CBS) and Work Breakdown Structures (WBS).
- Manage and update cost and forecasting data within project controls systems, including EcoSys and SAP.
- Support the development and maintenance of project budgets, forecasts, commitments, and cost reports.
- Analyse cost performance, identify variances, and provide insight into trends and risks.
- Work collaboratively with project managers, planners, commercial teams, and wider project controls functions.
- Ensure data integrity and compliance with project governance and reporting requirements.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the Integrated Project Controls function.
About You
- Previous experience in a Cost Engineer, Cost Controller, Project Controls, or similar role within major projects.
- Strong understanding of cost management, forecasting, and project controls methodologies.
- Experience working within large infrastructure, construction, engineering, energy, defence, or capital project environments.
- Proficiency with project controls systems such as EcoSys, SAP, Primavera, or similar platforms.
- Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
