An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Estimator to join a leading contractor delivering a major water framework. This role will play a key part in supporting the pre-construction and tendering function across a portfolio of water and infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation of detailed cost estimates from first principles for water and wastewater projects
- Review tender documentation including drawings, specifications, and scopes of work
- Develop robust pricing strategies for bids and framework opportunities
- Liaise with design, commercial, and operational teams to ensure accurate and competitive submissions
- Manage and coordinate subcontractor and supplier enquiries and pricing returns
- Assess project risks and opportunities and incorporate into tender submissions
- Support bid reviews and ensure all submissions are compliant and commercially competitive
- Work closely with senior stakeholders to drive successful tender outcomes
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Senior Estimator within civil engineering or utilities for a tier one or principal contractor within the UK
- Strong background working on water sector projects (AMP frameworks desirable)
- Experience pricing works from first principles through to final submission
- Good understanding of NEC forms of contract
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contract documentation
- Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Relevant qualification in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or similar technical discipline
