About the Role

HBSCO LLC is a solid waste company seeking an experienced Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic to join our fast-growing shop in Brighton, Colorado. This is an opportunity to be part of a strong, collaborative team supporting our expanding operations. The ideal candidate is dependable, mechanically skilled, and comfortable working both in the shop and in the field when necessary.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine, preventative, and corrective maintenance on heavy‑duty diesel vehicles and equipment
  • Inspect, diagnose, and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems
  • Diagnose and repair engines, chassis, driveline, A/C systems, electronic systems, and related components
  • Respond to emergency breakdowns and field service calls when necessary
  • Review, complete, and assign repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRs)
  • Perform vehicle safety inspections
  • Complete required documentation, including parts usage, labor hours, and repair records using the company’s truck maintenance system
  • Assist senior mechanics with larger or complex project work as needed
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with HBSCO LLC and OSHA standards and follow all established safety procedures
  • Work on a variety of makes and models including Cummins, Caterpillar, Mack, Peterbilt, Autocar, and Kenworth

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of diesel mechanic experience (required)
  • Waste industry experience, but not required
  • A/C Certification
  • Valid Driver’s License required
  • Must provide own tools
  • Basic computer skills required

Schedule & Work Environment

  • Monday – Friday
  • Required hours: 3:00 PM – 12:00 AM (or when the job is done)
  • Evening/Night shift position
  • 40 hours per week, with overtime available as needed
  • In‑person role with shop and field work

Compensation

$30.00 – $45.00 per hour, depending on experience. Pay discussed with management.
