We are seeking a Quality Manager to oversee our Technical Team, ensuring Food Safety, Quality, Legality, and Compliance with specification of all products. This role is crucial for maintaining high standards through enforcement of documented procedures and good manufacturing practices.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Manage the technical team to ensure all KPI targets are met.
  • Provide accurate and timely product specifications, documented work instructions, and visual guides to the manufacturing and warehouse teams.
  • Monitor the quality of raw materials, WIP, and finished products through chemical, microbiological, and sensory analysis using HACCP principles.
  • Develop and maintain LQC & QA systems to deliver safe, legal products of the right quality to BRC technical standard requirements.
  • Monitor and report on Key Quality KPIs on a weekly basis.
  • Conduct audits of Glass, Hygiene, Good Manufacturing Practice, and Buildings to agreed schedules.
  • Act as the site technical contact for all customers and external bodies such as EHO & Trading Standards.
  • Drive reduction in customer complaints through monitoring, reporting, and agreed action plans with the manufacturing team.
  • Communicate effectively with the team through daily briefings and regular meetings.
  • Report non-conformances from audits and follow up with relevant departments.
  • Overall responsibility for Technical Functions and deputise for the Technical Team.
  • Manage site technical matters.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Degree/HNC in Food Technology or equivalent.
  • Level 4 Food Hygiene or equivalent.
  • Auditing Qualification(s).
  • HACCP Level 4 or equivalent.
  • Allergen Awareness or formal qualification.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Manufacturing/process knowledge of High Care Food Manufacturing.
  • Proficient in computer use.
  • Experience in budget control.
  • Proven team management and development skills.
