We’re looking for an experienced Technical Manager to lead food safety, quality, and compliance at site level, ensuring the highest standards are met across all operations. As part of the senior leadership team, you’ll play a key role in shaping and delivering the site’s technical strategy while managing customer relationships and leading a high‑performing technical team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver the site technical strategy aligned to business goals
- Own site food safety, quality, and integrity standards
- Manage and develop HACCP, TACCP, VACCP, traceability and QMS systems
- Drive audit readiness, compliance, and continuous improvement
- Lead internal and external audits, ensuring robust close‑out of actions
- Manage customer relationships and technical interfaces
- Deliver KPI reporting, trend analysis, and improvement plans
- Oversee hygiene, pest control, and specifications processes
- Develop, coach, and lead the technical team
Essential Criteria
- Proven experience in a Technical/Quality leadership role within FMCG
- Strong knowledge of food safety legislation and industry standards
- Experience managing audits, customer visits, and quality systems
- Working knowledge of HACCP, TACCP and VACCP
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management
- IT literacy (including Excel)
Desirable Criteria
- Degree in Food Science or related discipline
- Level 4 Food Safety and HACCP qualification
- Internal auditing qualification
- Experience with environmental systems (e.g. IPPC)
- Knowledge of continuous improvement tools and cost control
- Awareness of ethical trading (e.g. SEDEX)
