Job Description
This role is ideal for an experienced Store Planner / Designer with a background in supermarket or retail food environments. The position focuses on designing efficient, customer-focused retail spaces while collaborating with architects, engineers, project managers, and operations teams on large-scale supermarket and retail projects.
Responsibilities
Develop store layouts, floor plans, and merchandising strategies to optimize customer flow and operational efficiency. Conduct site assessments, document existing conditions in AutoCAD, coordinate HVAC-R and MEP systems, select equipment to support merchandising objectives, and manage project timelines and resources. Help develop CAD standards, perform data extractions, and stay current with industry trends and design technologies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Interior Design, Architecture, Commercial Planning, or a related field
- Experience as a Retail Store Designer, preferably within the supermarket industry
- Strong understanding of supermarket layout optimization, merchandising principles, and customer flow management
- Proficiency in AutoCAD required
- Experience with Revit and SketchUp is a plus
- Ability to create visual presentations and effectively communicate design concepts
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Excellent attention to detail and design aesthetics
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
- Portfolio of retail store design projects required
- Minimum 3 years of AutoCAD experience required
