Are you a Senior Project Engineer, CRE or Design Manager with experience delivering railway systems projects? Do you have experience across track, OCS, signalling, communications, or depot rail infrastructure delivery?

Salary: £65,853.60-£77,474.40 package (depending on experience)

Location: Birmingham, 3 days in the office/site per week and remainder from home

Deadline: 4th June

This is an opportunity to join a major rail infrastructure programme supporting delivery of the railway systems packages within the Washwood Heath Depot development. As Senior Project Engineer, you will support the delivery of track, OCS, signalling, communications, sidings, and associated railway infrastructure works across the depot environment. The role requires a strong understanding of both design and construction delivery, with responsibilities spanning inspections, quality assurance, technical coordination, and engineering support throughout installation and commissioning activities. You will work closely with contractors, designers, and stakeholders to ensure safe, efficient, and technically compliant delivery across complex multi-disciplinary interfaces.

Essential experience:

  • Experience delivering railway systems projects
  • Background in track, OCS/OLE, signalling, communications, or rail infrastructure
  • Experience supporting construction and installation activities
  • Understanding of engineering assurance and quality control processes
  • Experience coordinating technical interfaces across multi-disciplinary environments
  • Strong understanding of practical railway systems delivery

Desirable experience:

  • Track background
  • Engineer or CRE experience
  • Depot or sidings experience
  • Experience undertaking inspections and quality activities on live projects
  • Experience across both design and construction phases
