Senior Civil Engineer
Location: Birmingham
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000

This Birmingham role combines hands-on design, project responsibility and genuine progression within an established multidisciplinary consultancy.
The Opportunity A growing engineering consultancy is looking for a Senior Civil Engineer to join its Birmingham team. You will work across commercial, education, healthcare, residential and leisure developments, including major multi-million-pound projects. As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will take responsibility for civil engineering design elements across multiple schemes, remaining technically involved while managing project delivery and building relationships with clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead civil engineering design across development projects
- Deliver drainage, SuDS, highways and external infrastructure designs
- Prepare Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Strategies
- Manage multiple projects and civil engineering design packages
- Produce and review designs using Civil 3D, PDS, Site 3D and AutoCAD
- Work closely with clients and multidisciplinary design teams
- Help develop technical standards and influence the continued growth of the civil engineering team
- Support and mentor less experienced engineers and technicians
Candidate Requirements
- Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
- Strong development infrastructure design experience
- Experience across drainage, SuDS and highways design
- Knowledge of MicroDrainage, InfoDrainage, Civil 3D, PDS or Site 3D
- Experience preparing Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Strategies
- Chartered or Incorporated status, or working towards professional qualification, would be advantageous
- Strong project management and client-facing capability
