The Project Installation Technician is responsible for the installation, upgrade, and commissioning of low-voltage and technology-based systems at customer sites. This role supports scheduled project work rather than reactive service calls and requires consistent weekday travel. The technician will represent the company on-site, deliver high-quality installations, and work closely with Project Managers, Coordinators, and Field Leadership to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to customer standards.
Travel & Schedule Expectations
- Weekday travel is required (typically Monday–Friday)
- Overnight travel is common depending on project location
- Per diem is provided for eligible travel days in accordance with company policy
- Occasional early starts or extended days may be required based on project schedules
- Weekend work is rare but may occur as needed
Key Responsibilities
- Installation & Project Execution
- Install, configure, and support physical and electronic security equipment for Financial Institutions, including but not limited to:
- Intrusion alarm systems
- Access control systems
- Video surveillance cameras and NVR/DVR systems
- Pneumatic tube systems
- ATMs and ITMs
- Heavy security-related equipment associated with branch and facility operations
Jobsite Professionalism & Safety
- Maintain a professional appearance and positive customer-facing attitude on all job sites
- Follow all safety protocols, including ladder safety, PPE usage, and tool handling
- Keep job sites clean, organized, and secure during and after installation
- Protect customer property and company assets at all times
Communication & Documentation
- Communicate daily progress and issues to the Project Manager or Coordinator
- Accurately document work performed, materials used, and job completion details
- Assist with as-built documentation, photos, and close-out requirements
- Escalate scope changes, material shortages, or site issues promptly
Qualifications Required
- Ability to travel during the workweek and stay overnight as required
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand and power tools
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on ladders or lifts
- 1+ years of experience in low-voltage, security, or technology installations (or equivalent hands-on experience)
- Experience with security, access control, or camera systems
- Familiarity with structured cabling standards
- OSHA 10, manufacturer certifications, or industry training
- Experience working in financial institutions, commercial buildings, or secure environments
