The Role
Salary: £37,477 with attractive overtime rates. Location: mainland GB with lots of travelling. Working Monday to Friday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm. The role involves weekend and possible out-of-hours work and participation in a 24‑hour callout programme based on a rota system.
Key responsibilities include:
- Maintaining and repairing gas and diesel engine installations at client sites throughout the UK
- Carrying out scheduled and reactive maintenance, fault-finding locally and remotely
- Diagnosing technical issues, implementing first-time fixes where possible
- Ensuring all work is completed in line with the manufacturer's instructions and service schedules
- Overseeing the servicing and maintenance of engines and ancillary equipment
- Planning resources and parts for repairs
- Co‑ordinating with parts and service teams to support successful after-sales contracts
- Liaising with contractors, third parties, and colleagues
About You
- At least an ONC, NVQ Level II, or City & Guilds Level 2 qualification in mechanical or electrical engineering, motor vehicle studies or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years’ industrial mechanical or electrical experience (preferably as a competent, time‑served technician)
- Strong skills and in‑depth knowledge of gas/diesel engines
- Effective IT skills and competency in Microsoft Office packages
- Full, valid driving licence
