Commissioning & Maintenance Supervisor

Salary: £50,000 to £55,000 per annum, plus vehicle, phone, overtime and benefits (life assurance, pension etc)

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am till 5pm (8 hours per day) – must be flexible

Location: Commonly commutable from Oxford, Northampton, Coventry, Birmingham, Chipping Norton, Brackley and surrounding areas

Responsibilities

  • Provide hands‑on technical support to technicians and subcontractors during service activities
  • Lead complex fault finding, diagnostics and resolution of technical issues
  • Ensure all work is completed in line with company standards, procedures and safety requirements
  • Act as an escalation point for technical issues arising in the field
  • Actively perform field service duties including installation, commissioning, breakdown response, fault diagnosis, repairs and preventative maintenance
  • Maintain regular presence on customer sites to support operational delivery and lead by example
  • Support planning and execution of service jobs to ensure efficient delivery
  • Act as a central coordination point between field teams, service support and management
  • Monitor job progress and maintain alignment with agreed timelines
  • Identify risks, delays or constraints early and take proactive action
  • Prioritise workloads in line with operational demands

Requirements

  • Qualified Engineer, ideally through an apprenticeship
  • Experience working in an industrial, manufacturing or production environment; familiar with machinery service and/or maintenance
  • Leadership experience highly desirable
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Open to travel
  • Relevant experience in roles such as Maintenance Supervisor, Maintenance Team Leader, Maintenance Manager, Field Service, Commissioning Engineer, Installation Engineer
