Salvage & Service has an opening for a Heavy Equipment Mechanic at our Birmingham, Alabama, facility. Experience working on heavy equipment and diesel trucks is required, must be skilled in hydraulics. Welding experience is a plus. Responsibilities:
- Perform diagnostics and repair of machinery.
- Maintain and implement preventive maintenance.
- Plan and implement machine modifications and upgrades.
- Complete daily paperwork.
Position Specific Competencies:
- Mechanical knowledge on heavy equipment to make repairs (change hydraulic hose, grease and lube, safety walk around inspection).
- You must successfully pass a background screen and pre-employment drug screen.
- Must be able to climb and able to lift 50 pounds.
Requirements:
- Experience working on trucks/trailers/heavy equipment.
- Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions.
