Location: Hybrid, 3 days office or site based and 2 days working from home

Salary: Circa £32,000 per annum (≈£123.64 per day)

Holiday allowance: 28 days (inclusive of bank holidays)

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm

We are looking for a Document Controller to support the maintenance, filing, archiving and retrieval of project records using electronic document management systems. This is a hybrid role working on one of the largest civils projects in the UK and would suit someone with strong document control experience, ideally gained within an engineering, construction, infrastructure or major projects environment.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain entries within the EDMS, including scanning, filing and archiving project documents in line with document management controls, standards and procedures
  • Ensure metadata and document information within the EDMS is accurate, complete and up to date
  • Retrieve project records and files from archives and the EDMS promptly and accurately
  • Support departments with document lifecycle management, ensuring a clear audit trail for document approval
  • Check the quality of submitted deliverables and ensure documentation is correctly managed
  • Provide reports and management information in response to business requests
  • Support and guide teams with the implementation of document management processes
  • Process document control inbox requests and tasks within agreed timescales
  • Handle confidential information carefully and appropriately
Skills and Experience Required
  • Previous experience in document control or records management
  • Good knowledge of document management standards, processes and procedures
  • Experience using EDMS platforms for records tracking, archiving, retention and storage
  • Understanding of documentation processes within an engineering, construction, infrastructure or major project environment
  • Working knowledge of bulk scanning, scanning systems and PDF functionality
  • Confident user of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage information carefully, confidentially and efficiently
