About the Role
Our client is looking for an experienced and motivated Catering Gas Engineer to join their engineering team, covering a classic midlands territory. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, servicing, maintenance, fault finding and repair of commercial catering gas equipment across a range of customer sites, including restaurants, hotels, pubs, schools, care facilities and commercial kitchens.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on commercial catering equipment.
- Diagnose faults and undertake repairs on commercial gas appliances and associated equipment.
- Install, commission and test commercial catering gas appliances and systems.
- Work on commercial ovens, ranges, fryers, grills, boilers, water heaters and other catering appliances.
- Carry out gas safety checks and ensure equipment is operating safely and efficiently.
- Complete servicing, maintenance and reactive breakdown work.
- Identify additional repair or replacement requirements and communicate these clearly to customers and management.
- Complete job sheets, service reports and compliance documentation accurately.
- Ensure all work complies with current gas safety legislation and manufacturer requirements.
- Maintain high standards of health and safety at all times.
- Provide professional customer service while working on client premises.
- Work independently and manage daily workloads effectively.
- Participate in an on-call or emergency breakdown rota where required.
Qualifications and Experience
- Proven experience as a Commercial/Catering Gas Engineer.
- Current Gas Safe registration.
- CCCN1 β Commercial Catering Gas qualification.
- Relevant COMCAT competencies for the appliances being worked on.
- Demonstrable experience servicing, maintaining and repairing commercial catering equipment.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Good understanding of commercial gas installations and safety requirements.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Strong commitment to health and safety.
