About the role
We are looking for a mechanical technician with FGAS certification (or equivalent) to join our state‑of‑the‑art facility. The successful candidate will support performance and reliability testing of refrigeration cabinets, build new equipment (brazing, pipework, assembly, electrical work – full training provided), and create/edit technical documents and manuals. You will also participate in product development and engineering meetings, and have a clear progression path to an R&D management role.
Key responsibilities
- Work within the Engineering and R&D team to build, test and improve refrigeration cabinets.
- Perform performance and reliability testing on a range of refrigeration cabinets.
- Support the build of new equipment – completing brazing, pipework, assembly and electrical work.
- Create and edit technical documents, manuals and drawings.
- Participate in product development and engineering meetings.
- Progress towards a managerial role within the R&D team.
Qualifications & experience
- FGAS certified (or equivalent).
- Refrigeration experience.
- Commute distance to Biggleswade, Bedford, Sandy, St. Neots, Royston or Hitchin.
