Senior Electrician
We are seeking a qualified Senior Electrician to join our East Yorkshire-based solar PV, EV charging, grid connection, and battery storage company.
The role is mobile across the UK, offers weekends off and significant mid‑week overtime, and is ideal for those with 10+ years of on‑the‑job experience or a strong desire to step up to a team‑lead position.
Responsibilities
- Lead on‑site operations and manage junior electricians.
- Install and maintain electrical wiring systems, equipment, and fixtures.
- Install containment such as cable tray, basket, box trunking, Unistrut, and ducting.
- Install panel and distribution boards ranging from 125A to 800A.
- Install cabling from 6mm singles up to 300mm 4 core SWA/AWA and larger.
- Conduct full electrical testing of installed systems and produce certifications.
- Ensure all work complies with BS7671.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues and perform necessary repairs.
- Collaborate with other teams and tradespeople to complete projects efficiently.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations.
- Full UK driving licence with no more than 6 points.
- IET 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification.
- ECS Gold card.
- Strong IT literacy skills.
- 2391 Inspection & Testing Level 3 Award in Installation & Commissioning of EV Charging Equipment (desirable but not essential).
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and clients.
- Proven ability to take the lead on site.
