About the role
You will support the quality, consistency, and governance of supply chain data, with an initial focus on data received from Suppliers. This role combines hands‑on operational data checking with active involvement in defining data standards, critical data elements, and data quality rules, working closely with data architects, data analysts, and supply chain stakeholders. Over time, the scope may expand to cover wider supply chain data domains.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and perform manual data quality checks for supplier data, investigating issues and identifying root causes.
- Work with stakeholders to define data quality rules and requirements based on operational and business needs.
- Partner with data architects to help define and evolve supplier data standards, definitions, and structures.
- Identify and document Critical Data Elements (CDEs) and support agreement on definitions and ownership.
- Support the design and implementation of automated data quality controls and monitoring, informed by hands‑on validation experience.
- Review data quality metrics, exceptions, and trends, proactively highlighting risks and improvement areas.
Skills and Experience
- Ability to conduct hands‑on data verification with strong attention to detail.
- Understanding of data quality and governance concepts.
- Strong problem‑solving skills, and the ability to plan and manage actions to contain data quality issues and prevent their recurrence.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with architects, analysts, and operational teams to define standards and rules.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate data issues clearly to a range of stakeholders.
Desirable
- Experience contributing to data standards, data models, or governance frameworks.
- Familiarity with data quality tooling, metadata catalogs, or BI platforms.
- Ability to interrogate data using SQL or analytical tools.
