Job Summary
Incredibly exciting pilot plant role / pilot plant manager role. Leeds high tech, innovative business involved in chemical, oil & gas, process industries – a sustainable business with novel technology that has an amazing impact on the environment.
Location
Near Leeds, commutable from Leeds, Huddersfield, Wakefield, Bradford, Batley, Yorkshire region.
Salary
Salary TBC we anticipate £50,000 – £60,000.
Responsibilities
- Develop new processes, test, report and analyse results.
- Run trials, analyse reports and findings.
- Maintain a hands‑on role with a ‘get stuck in’ mentality and technical curiosity.
- Oversee safety, budget control, scheduling and compliance.
- Liaise closely with subcontractors for maintenance of plant and equipment.
- Manage contractors, suppliers and regulatory interactions (COMAH, REACH, waste regulations).
- Navigate ambiguity and problem‑solve on the ground when things don’t go exactly to plan.
Qualifications
- Flexible on background – technically curious and passionate about making a difference.
- Any exposure to process industries (chemical, plastics, polymer, oil & gas, petrochemical, pharma, biotech) would be beneficial.
- Practical knowledge of regulatory frameworks (COMAH, REACH, environmental, safety) would be beneficial but not essential.
- Intellectual agility and problem‑solving mindset able to learn fast and adapt on the fly.
