Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Construction Estimator based in Bedford for one of our clients on a full‑time permanent basis.

  • Summary
  • Location: Bedford
  • Type of Contract: Permanent
  • Hours: Monday – Thursday 8.30am‑5pm, Friday 8.30am‑4.30pm

Responsibilities

  • Prepare cost estimates, tender pricing and bid submissions.
  • Review drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
  • Obtain and analyse quotations.
  • Conduct quantity take-offs and cost analysis.
  • Highlight potential risks.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Support project handovers.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in estimating within commercial/industrial construction.
  • Solid knowledge of construction methods and materials.
  • Competence in interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong numerical ability alongside analytical and communication skills.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office and relevant estimating software.
  • Capable of meeting tight deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
