We are recruiting a Health Economics Manager to join a UK‑focused Value & Access team within a global pharmaceutical organisation. This role plays a critical part in securing access for new medicines through high‑quality health economic strategy and HTA submissions.
The role:
- You will be accountable for developing and delivering the UK health economic and HTA strategy for pipeline and in‑line medicines.
- The position involves leading submissions to HTA bodies such as NICE, SMC, AWMSG and NCEC, working closely with cross‑functional and international partners to ensure robust, locally relevant value propositions.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead the development and delivery of UK HTA submissions, including NICE, SMC and AWMSG.
- Define and execute health economic strategy for launches and line extensions.
- Oversee economic models, dossiers and supporting deliverables to ensure UK HTA suitability.
- Manage external market access and health economics agencies.
- Represent the health economic case at HTA appraisal meetings and respond to payer questions.
- Collaborate with Medical, Real‑World Evidence, Brand and Market Access colleagues.
- Monitor competitor HTA activity and provide strategic insight.
- Contribute to early‑phase asset development and horizon scanning activities.
About you:
- Post‑graduate degree in Health Economics or a closely related discipline.
- Strong understanding of cost‑effectiveness analysis and HTA requirements.
- Hands‑on experience with UK HTA submissions (e.g. NICE and/or SMC).
- Confident working with health economic models and technical documentation.
- Strong communication skills and ability to engage with senior internal and external stakeholders.
- Comfortable working with ambiguity in a fast‑paced, cross‑functional environment.
