We are supporting an established Main Contractor with more than £800M of New Build under construction across London and a growing pipeline of a similar value. They have a need for an Assistant Project Manager to join them on an Iconic new Central London £200M cut & carve Hotel Development at PCSA stage. You will join the team in a key support role, engaging with the PCSA process and grow with the project and business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Project Manager by acting as a coordination link between the Design Department, Commercial Team, and Site Teams.
  • Assist in producing accurate, consistent, and professional project records, reports, and general project documentation.
  • Support the Project Manager in liaising with the client, government officials, consultants, and other third parties throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Assist with pre-construction activities, including preparation of Construction Management Plans and supporting the process of obtaining pre-commencement permits and agreements.
  • Assist with site surveys and reviews to identify potential risks, constraints, or design issues and feedback findings to the project team.
  • Assist in coordinating subcontractors and direct labour, supporting site management teams with day-to-day requirements.
  • Prepare and issue progress reports for internal management and client review.
  • Work closely with the Planning Manager to assist in developing, implementing, and monitoring project programmes.
  • Support risk management activities, including maintaining and updating the Project Risk Register.
  • Assist with ensuring projects are delivered in line with the company's Health & Safety Management System, escalating non-conformances.
  • Support design management activities.
  • Work closely with the Commercial Team to support procurement activities.

You will have a Degree ideally in Civil Engineering/Construction Management or equivalent. Experience working within a main contractor environment, supporting project delivery. Developing knowledge of construction disciplines including design coordination, procurement, programme management, and Health & Safety. Confident written and verbal communication skills. IT literate with a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
