Reed Technology is working with an established company based in Edinburgh, currently hiring an experienced 2nd / 3rd Line Network Engineer – LAN & Wi‑Fi (Aruba). This is a Permanent role, paying up to £55,000 per year with a predominantly home‑based work model, with occasional travel to the Edinburgh office and customer sites if required.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and resolve complex network incidents, primarily related to wired and wireless infrastructure.
- Manage and progress fault tickets through to resolution within agreed SLAs.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement permanent fixes.
- Produce clear technical notes, incident reports, and documentation.
- Provide 2nd and 3rd line support for LAN and Wi‑Fi networks.
- Assist with the design, implementation, and optimisation of LAN and WLAN solutions.
- Carry out network changes in line with change management processes.
- Participate in customer meetings (remote and on‑site) to discuss incidents, designs, and improvements.
We're looking for someone with
- Proven experience in a 2nd / 3rd line network engineering role.
- Strong knowledge of LAN and Wi‑Fi technologies.
- Solid understanding of: Switching & VLANs, Wireless standards (802.11), Network security fundamentals, Troubleshooting complex network issues.
- Experience supporting network‑related projects alongside BAU support.
- Experience in customer environments (MSP or enterprise).
- Relevant certifications (e.g. Aruba, Cisco, or equivalent).
- Hands‑on experience with Aruba networking products, including: Aruba Wireless Access Points & Switches, Aruba Airwave, Aruba Central, Aruba ClearPass.
