They are now seeking an Electrical Technical Director (Data Centres) to lead electrical engineering delivery, drive technical quality, and play a key role in the growth of their European operations.
About the Role
The Electrical Technical Director will lead electrical design across major data‑centre projects, combining hands‑on technical delivery with team leadership and strategic input. You will oversee engineering outputs, guide design teams, and ensure the highest standards of quality and performance. This role requires a technically exceptional engineer who can both deliver complex designs and help build and grow a high‑performing electrical engineering capability.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead electrical design delivery across major European data‑centre projects.
- Develop and oversee robust electrical infrastructure solutions, including LV/HV systems, UPS, generators, and resilience strategies.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to electrical engineering teams.
- Review and approve detailed design outputs, ensuring quality, accuracy, and compliance.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated MEP solutions.
- Act as a key technical point of contact for clients, consultants, and stakeholders.
- Support project planning, resource allocation, and delivery strategy.
- Contribute to bids, proposals, and technical solutions for new opportunities.
- Maintain and enhance engineering standards, processes, and best practices.
- Support the growth and development of the electrical engineering function.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Electrical Engineering (or related discipline); Chartered status preferred.
- Typically 12–18+ years’ experience in electrical design within building services.
- Strong background in mission‑critical/data‑centre projects is essential.
- Deep technical expertise in electrical distribution, resilience design, and critical systems.
- Proven experience leading teams and delivering complex projects.
- Strong client‑facing skills and ability to influence technical decisions.
