Acorn by Synergie is recruiting an experienced Machine Operator to join a well‑established and growing engineering and manufacturing business in Sparkford. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled operator to work within a fast‑paced production environment using a range of advanced machinery.
Key Duties
- Set up and operate press brake, CNC router, and laser cutting machinery.
- Load and unload raw materials and finished components.
- Check materials for correct size, thickness, and grade.
- Interpret engineering drawings and work from Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Use nesting software to optimise material usage.
- Inspect, measure, and deburr finished parts.
- Sort and organise components by job and material type.
- Complete documentation to maintain quality standards.
- Work collaboratively to achieve On‑Time Delivery (OTD) targets.
- Carry out basic machine maintenance and maintain accurate records.
- Operate additional machinery as required.
- Identify risks and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure full compliance with health and safety standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience operating press brakes, CNC routers, or laser cutting machines.
- Strong understanding of engineering and manufacturing environments.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Competent with measuring tools such as verniers, squares, protractors, and tape measures.
- Knowledge of nesting software is advantageous.
