We are looking for a highly skilled and proactive Mobile HVAC Installation Engineer to join a specialist building services team delivering high-quality mechanical installations across a range of bespoke residential and light commercial projects. The role involves varied, hands-on work across multiple sites, delivering technically challenging and often prestigious installations including advanced air conditioning systems and specialist cooling solutions. No two days are the same, so adaptability, strong technical ability, and a practical problem-solving mindset are essential, alongside solid installation experience.
Role Responsibilities
- You will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, and testing of a wide range of HVAC systems, including split and multi-split air conditioning units, VRV/VRF systems, ventilation systems, and specialist refrigeration applications such as wine cellar cooling.
- The work will involve all associated installation duties including copper pipework, containment such as tray and trunking, ductwork installation, electrical integration, pressure testing, refrigerant charging, and full system commissioning with handover.
- A key part of the role is ensuring all work is carried out safely and in line with company procedures, RAMS, and current F-Gas regulations.
- You will also be responsible for accurate completion of job sheets, commissioning paperwork, and refrigerant usage logs, as well as ensuring waste is disposed of in accordance with environmental requirements.
- As a mobile engineer, you will take ownership of your daily organisation and logistics, including reviewing upcoming work to ensure all tools and materials are prepared, maintaining a clean and well-stocked company vehicle, and managing travel between sites efficiently.
- You will also be expected to use digital job management systems to provide real-time updates on progress and completion.
- You will act as a professional point of contact on site, communicating clearly with clients, site managers, and other trades, including explaining technical information in simple terms where required, highlighting any site variations that may affect the installation, and identifying opportunities for future maintenance or system improvements.
About You
You are a self-motivated and detail-focused HVAC professional who takes pride in delivering high standards of workmanship and customer service. You are comfortable working independently in the field, managing your own workload, and adapting to different project requirements as needed. Strong communication skills, a flexible approach, and a willingness to learn are just as important as your technical experience.
Requirements
- You will hold a relevant industry qualification such as F-Gas certification and/or NVQ Level 2 or 3 (or equivalent).
- You will also have proven experience installing and commissioning a range of HVAC systems, with strong knowledge of VRV/VRF, split systems, ventilation, and refrigeration.
- A full UK driving licence is essential.
What is Offered
This role offers the opportunity to work on varied and technically interesting projects within a supportive and professional environment. You will be provided with a company vehicle, tools, and the chance to develop your skills further while working on high-quality installations across the region.
