Wolviston Management Services are proud to be supporting our client in the appointment of a Mechanical Engineer to join their growing team based in Fellside. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic and expanding engineering business delivering specialist mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical solutions across a varied industrial client base. You will play a key role in supporting both workshop and site-based activities, ensuring equipment reliability, rapid fault resolution, and high-quality engineering delivery across multiple projects.
As Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting a wide range of mechanical engineering activities, working both independently and as part of a multi-disciplined team. You will be involved in installation, maintenance, fault finding and repair of mechanical systems, with a strong focus on hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum operational performance.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out mechanical installation, maintenance and repair across industrial environments
- Diagnose faults and implement effective repair solutions across mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Support breakdown response activities, delivering fast and effective solutions
- Work on pumps, valves, pipework and fluid-based systems
- Interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
- Assist with system builds, modifications and commissioning activities
- Ensure all work is carried out in line with health, safety and quality standards
- Maintain accurate records of work completed and parts used
- Provide technical support and advice to customers where required
- Proven experience in a mechanical engineering role within an industrial environment
- Strong working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Ability to fault find, diagnose and repair mechanical equipment
- Experience working both in a workshop and on-site environments
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- A proactive and hands-on approach with strong problem-solving skills
- Full UK driving licence (desirable due to site-based work)
