Mechanical Supervisor
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Mechanical Supervisor to join our team on a prestigious mixed use development comprising commercial and residential buildings.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands‑on professional with a strong background in mechanical building services to play a key role in delivering a high‑quality project safely, on time, and within budget.
About the Role
The Mechanical Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing all mechanical installation works on site, ensuring activities are completed in accordance with project specifications, programme requirements, quality standards, and health and safety regulations.
You will coordinate subcontractors, liaise with the wider project team, and ensure works are delivered efficiently throughout all stages of the project.
Mechanical Supervisor Key Responsibilities
• Supervise all mechanical building services installations, including
- HVAC systems
- Domestic water services
- Drainage
- Public health systems
- Heating and cooling systems
- Plant room installations
- Coordinate and manage mechanical subcontractors and direct labour.
- Ensure works are carried out in accordance with drawings, specifications, and current regulations.
- Monitor quality of installations and ensure compliance with project standards.
- Carry out daily site inspections and progress reporting.
- Plan and coordinate labour and materials to maintain programme milestones.
- Work closely with electrical supervisors and other trades to ensure smooth coordination.
- Attend site meetings, toolbox talks, and coordination meetings.
- Ensure all health, safety, and environmental requirements are adhered to.
- Review RAMS (Risk Assessments & Method Statements) before works commence.
- Assist with commissioning activities, inspections, testing, and final handover.
- Identify and resolve on-site technical issues proactively.
- Maintain accurate site records, including progress updates, inspections, and labour returns.
- Mechanical Supervisor Requirements
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Supervisor within the construction industry.
- Experience delivering commercial, residential, or mixed‑use developments.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical building services installation.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent organisational and leadership skills.
- Good communication and coordination abilities.
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety legislation.
- Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating multiple work fronts.
