Salary: Up to £36,000 per annum + Overtime + Monthly Bonus
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30am – 4:00pm (40 hours per week, flexi hours available)
Syntech Recruitment are recruiting for a Facilities Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established engineering and manufacturing business based in Woking. This is a varied, hands-on role where you'll be responsible for maintaining the company's buildings, facilities and surrounding grounds to ensure a safe, efficient and well-maintained working environment. You'll carry out a wide range of planned and reactive maintenance tasks, coordinate specialist contractors, and support the day-to-day running of the site. This opportunity would suit someone with experience in facilities maintenance, building maintenance or site engineering who enjoys a practical role with plenty of variety.

Responsibilities
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across the site
- Complete repairs to building fabric, fixtures, fittings and general infrastructure
- Undertake basic plumbing, carpentry, painting, decorating and general building maintenance
- Maintain external areas including grounds, pathways and basic gardening duties
- Complete routine building inspections and identify maintenance requirements
- Coordinate planned preventative maintenance (PPM) with external contractors
- Arrange quotations, raise purchase orders and oversee contractor works
- Review contractor RAMS, permits and ensure compliance with site procedures
- Support office moves, meeting room setup and general facilities requests
- Maintain maintenance records and ensure statutory checks are completed
- Assist with occasional machine shop and workshop maintenance where required
- Support planned shutdowns and occasional weekend maintenance activities (paid as overtime)
Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience within facilities maintenance, building maintenance or site engineering
- Strong practical maintenance skills across a range of building services
- Experience working within manufacturing, engineering, industrial or commercial environments
- Experience coordinating contractors and planned maintenance activities
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
- Basic IT skills including Microsoft Office
- A proactive and organised approach to maintenance
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Electrical qualifications, forklift licences or additional maintenance certifications would be advantageous but are not essential, as training can be provided.
