Machine Operative (Training to Extruder Machine Operator) – Witham

Pay: Highly competitive

Hours: Monday to Friday – Weekly rotating shifts 07:00 - 15:00, 15:00 - 23:00

Contract: Temp to Perm

We are recruiting for an experienced Machine Operative to join a well-established manufacturing business in Witham. This role focuses on hands-on machine operation within a busy production environment, with a clear progression route onto an extruder machine. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with machine operating experience—ideally within food manufacturing—who are looking to step into a more skilled position with structured training and increased earning potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operating and monitoring production machinery to ensure efficient output
  • Running filling machinery for 1-tonne bags
  • Carrying out product quality checks, including moisture testing
  • Supporting production flow across departments
  • Assisting with machine setup, changeovers, and basic fault finding
  • Maintaining high standards of hygiene, housekeeping, and safety
  • Ensuring production targets and quality standards are consistently met

Training & Progression

  • Full training provided with a structured pathway to become an Extruder Machine Operator

  • Pay increase to £15.50+ per hour once fully trained on the extruder machine
