Join Our Team as an Engineering and Sustainability Manager! Are you passionate about driving sustainability and engineering excellence in the energy sector? Our client, a leading organization committed to a greener and fairer future, is seeking an agile and enthusiastic Engineering and Sustainability Manager for a 9‑month fixed‑term contract. Day Rate: £555.00 per day Inside IR35

Location: Windsor (travel around the UK)

Contract Type: 9 months Fixed Term Contract

Working Pattern: Hybrid Mon - Fri 9am to 5pm

Role Overview

As the Engineering and Sustainability Manager, you will play a pivotal leadership role in guiding the evolution of our client’s estate. Your expertise will be key in shaping the future of the built environment, supporting net‑zero ambitions, and enabling innovative ways of working.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement engineering and sustainability strategies aligned with group objectives and ESG commitments. Act as a technical authority, embedding sustainability considerations into business planning and decision‑making.
  • Technical Excellence & Compliance: Provide expert guidance on building engineering, asset maintenance, and statutory compliance. Ensure all activities comply with legislation, regulations, and lease obligations. Oversee efficient maintenance of assets and support lifecycle planning and capital investment.
  • Sustainability & Net Zero: Lead initiatives to reduce energy consumption, carbon emissions, and water usage. Embed sustainability principles into asset management and capital projects. Be accountable for meeting energy, carbon reduction, and water consumption targets.
  • Portfolio Transformation & Change: Support major change initiatives, including new builds and refurbishments. Provide technical due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, and technology integration.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Ensure engineering and sustainability solutions meet evolving needs while maintaining governance.
  • Supplier & Partner Management: Oversee facilities management and engineering partners, ensuring high standards of safety and performance. Drive value for money and innovation through effective supplier management.
  • Data‑Driven Decision Making: Utilize data and analytics to inform strategy and monitor asset performance.
  • Risk & Resilience: Identify and manage risks to critical assets, ensuring robust controls are in place.
  • People Development: Foster a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning within the team.
