The Role – Estimator / Quantity Surveyor
Due to continued growth, my client is looking to appoint an experienced Estimator / Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial delivery of bespoke construction and fit-out projects from tender stage through to final account. This is a varied role suited to someone who enjoys working on unique, technically challenging projects within a fast-paced and creative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing accurate cost estimates and tender submissions
- Reviewing drawings, specifications, and project documentation
- Producing detailed take-offs and cost plans
- Managing project costs throughout delivery lifecycle
- Procuring subcontractors and suppliers
- Negotiating quotations and contracts
- Monitoring variations, valuations, and final accounts
- Supporting project managers with commercial reporting and forecasting
- Liaising with clients, designers, suppliers, and internal teams
- Assisting in identifying cost-saving opportunities and value engineering solutions
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience as an Estimator, Quantity Surveyor, or Commercial Surveyor
- Background within construction, fit-out, manufacturing, interiors, themed environments, or specialist contracting
- Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and estimating software
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Desirable Experience
- Experience working on bespoke or high-end fit-out projects
- Exposure to hospitality, leisure, retail, themed attractions, or cruise ship projects
- Knowledge of NEC or JCT contracts
