We are recruiting for a Design Manager for a contractor to work on a new education scheme near Weymouth.
They are one of the largest contractors in the UK, a family‑run, profitable business with secured future workloads and cash reserves. The company operates in the education, student and BTR, retail & leisure, mixed‑use development and office markets. Projects are secured through a 2‑stage framework or repeat business, ranging from £30 to £150 m, and our regional office is located in Bristol.
The Bristol office covers Bristol and the South West down to Plymouth and Exeter. Recent project awards have expanded our portfolio to include schemes in Weymouth, Poole, and Bournemouth, the first of which is a Direct Award DFE school scheme of circa £30 m.
Design Manager responsibilities include working from bid stages through the detailed 2nd stage, taking over site implementation, and delivering the scheme. The role involves the full life cycle of the project: bid, win, develop, and deliver.
We seek either experienced Design Managers who want to shape the full life cycle of a development and have their ideas heard, or ambitious Design Co‑ordinators ready to step up. Experience with the Building Safety Act is an advantage; if you are not yet chartered, we will support external training to achieve this.
