Responsibilities:
- Provide engineering design input to new products and support the existing product range by assessing technical queries and providing engineering solutions.
- Liaise with internal JFD departments such as sales, procurement, and production to ensure the best technical solution is provided in all instances.
- Sourcing suitable components and materials when required and creation of part numbers and bill of materials.
- Creation of engineering documentation such as specifications, proposals, assembly instructions, test procedures, certification, and reports.
- Checking detailed electrical drawings and documentation, adherence to engineering and company standards and processes, and compliance with internal and external standards & regulations.
- Ensuring engineering solutions are provided on time and on budget.
- Site visits to other JFD offices and client assets as and when required.
- Accountability and responsibility as technical checker of drawings and documentation generated in support of the electrical engineer role.

Qualifications and Experience:
- Proven electrical and electronics design skills.
- Skilled in generating design calculations.
- Competent in the use of engineering design software tools/CAD packages.
- Knowledge of design standards.
- Previous product design experience, particularly DC systems, is advantageous.
- Ideally with experience from within a Graduate Engineer position.
- Experience with Product Lifecycle Management system for generating and storage of engineering packages.
- Electrical and Electronics engineering degree or equivalent industry experience.
- Experience working to marine, defence standards and class society rules (mainly LR and DNV).
- Ability to pass security clearance for this role and have the right to work and reside in the UK.
