BAM Site Solutions is looking for an Accommodation & Welfare Installation Operative to support all aspects of installation and removal of our portable accommodation, general refurbishment, fit out and maintenance of Portable Accommodation units on site or in a workshop environment to current standards and regulations. This is a full‑time position based in Wellingborough, working Monday to Friday. Regular travel throughout the UK will be required; a company van will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, dismantle and maintain modular units to the highest standard, including fitting and removal of partitions, floors, ceilings and other fittings.
- Perform lifting operations, with training available if no prior experience.
- Ensure health and safety priorities are upheld for all involved.
- Process customer orders in a timely manner to meet customer expectations.
- Identify and rectify failures to prevent recurrence.
- Maintain documented operating procedures and systems.
- Understand and meet customers’ needs.
- Support BAM in all its operations as required.
- Minimise environmental impact of operations.
- Strive for profitable growth.
- Perform a wide range of general maintenance tasks – from electrics and plumbing in canteens and toilet blocks to replacing door handles and general repair.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Experience in general refurbishment, fit out and maintenance of Modular and Portable Accommodation units on site or in a workshop environment to current standards and regulations.
- Basic knowledge in plumbing, joinery, decorating and general maintenance.
- Valid driving licence required.
- Strong organisational skills, able to multi‑task and prioritise a busy workload.
- Enthusiastic team player.
- Preferably experience in a Manufacturing Operative / Fitter role, using power tools.
- Professional positive attitude, willingness to learn, ability to work within a multi‑disciplinary team, flexible approach to work and working hours.
- Experience with modular cabins or similar suppliers is an advantage.
