The work involves manufacturing, assembling, and welding special-purpose plant, pipework systems, and process equipment to exacting standards.
This role requires an experienced Welder Fabricator with a strong background in stainless steel fabrication and a commitment to precision, safety, and quality workmanship.
Responsibilities
- Perform various welding processes including TIG (GTAW), MIG (GMAW), and MMA (Stick welding) on stainless steel and mild steel materials.
- Carry out orbital and manual TIG welding on stainless steel pipework and components for hygienic and pressure systems.
- Fabricate, assemble, and fit tanks, vessels, pipe spools, frames, and support structures according to technical drawings and specifications.
- Prepare materials by cutting, folding, forming, and polishing stainless steel sheet and tube.
- Operate fabrication equipment such as press brakes, guillotines, rollers, saws, grinders, and polishing machines.
- Ensure all work meets industry and client quality standards, performing inspections and tests including visual checks, dye-penetrant testing, and pressure testing where required.
- Maintain clean welds with excellent appearance and full penetration according to project requirements.
- Work independently or as part of a team to meet deadlines and production targets.
- Follow strict health, safety, and hygiene procedures, especially when working on food-grade or pharmaceutical equipment.
- Support continuous improvement by identifying process efficiencies and ensuring high standards of workmanship.
Skills and Experience Required
- Proven experience as a stainless steel welder fabricator.
- Skilled in TIG welding (manual and/or orbital), with additional MIG or MMA experience desirable.
- Proficient in fabrication and assembly of stainless steel components, including pipework and structural frames.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and fabrication blueprints accurately.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality, visually clean welds.
- Knowledge of welding codes and inspection requirements.
- Understanding of safe working practices, PPE use, and handling of stainless materials to prevent contamination.
- Experience within food processing, petrochemical, or pharmaceutical fabrication is an advantage
