Leading Security Installation organisation seeks an experienced Senior Security Engineer to install, service and maintain intruder alarms, CCTV and access control systems across customer sites, ensuring full compliance with Company and BS EN/PD standards. This multi‑skilled role requires strong technical ability, on‑site leadership and the capability to support the Engineering Manager with operational decisions and problem‑solving. Successful candidates for the Senior Security Engineer will demonstrate extensive experience across security systems, a proactive “can do” attitude and the ability to work independently as well as within a wider engineering team. BS7858 security screening and a full clean UK driving licence are essential. Occasional overnight stays required. The role covers the North London/Hertfordshire/Slough/Thames Valley/M40 corridor.
Duties of Senior Security Engineer:
- Install, service, commission and maintain intruder alarms, CCTV and access control systems to current BS EN/PD standards
- Diagnose faults across all security disciplines and carry out effective repairs and corrective actions
- Complete small works, system upgrades and equipment replacements as required
- Lead on customer sites where required to ensure projects are delivered on time and to exceptional quality
- Support the Engineering Manager with operational decisions, technical problem solving and site‑based challenges
- Work efficiently within the engineering team to ensure project deadlines and targets are achieved
- Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and compliant with industry regulations and RAMS
- Maintain accurate documentation, reports and compliance records
- Participate in the on‑call rota and be available for occasional overnight stays
- Attend company meetings and follow all company procedures
- Maintain exceptional levels of customer service and client communication
- Conduct all activities in a professional manner, supporting the wider workforce and contributing to the company’s “one team” ethos
Skills and Experience required by Senior Security Engineer:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience installing, servicing and maintaining intruder alarms, CCTV and access control systems
- Proficiency with the following systems is desirable: CCTV: Dahua; Intruder: Texecom, Pyronix, Ajax and Galaxy; Access Control: Paxton
- “Can do” attitude
- Security screening to BS7858 standard - Essential
- A full UK driving licence - Essential
