An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Mechanical Ventilation Engineer to join a leading engineering team supporting major projects at Sellafield. Working on the MSSS SEP programme, you'll be responsible for delivering ventilation system designs and layouts for complex nuclear facilities, ensuring compliance with stringent safety and regulatory requirements.

The Role
- Provide specialist design expertise, developing ventilation solutions that support the safe operation of nuclear facilities.
- Produce HVAC and mechanical ventilation system designs for nuclear applications.
- Develop ventilation layouts, calculations and engineering design packages.
- Support the design and modification of plant ventilation systems.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver integrated solutions.
- Ensure designs comply with nuclear industry standards, regulations and project requirements.
- Participate in design reviews and provide technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support technical documentation, design substantiation and engineering assurance activities.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Ventilation or HVAC Engineer.
- Experience producing ventilation designs and layouts within complex engineering environments.
- Strong understanding of HVAC principles, airflow calculations and ventilation system design.
- Experience producing engineering calculations and technical documentation.
- Knowledge of relevant British Standards and industry codes.
- HNC, HND or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
Desirable Experience
- Previous experience working on Sellafield or within the nuclear sector.
- Knowledge of MSSS SEP or similar nuclear infrastructure projects.
- Experience working within highly regulated industries such as nuclear, defence or energy.
- Familiarity with engineering assurance, safety cases and design substantiation processes.
