Are you an experienced Electrical Design Engineer looking to work on some of the UK's most challenging and important nuclear projects?
We’re seeking a talented engineer to join the Silos PFCS Supporting Projects team, playing a key role in the design and delivery of electrical infrastructure solutions supporting one of the UK's most significant nuclear decommissioning programmes.
The Role
Working within the Electrical & Instrumentation design team, you'll be responsible for producing and checking design packages that support safety, operational and business objectives across a range of plant-facing projects.
You'll be involved throughout the project lifecycle, supporting design development, construction activities and commissioning while collaborating closely with engineers across multiple disciplines.
Key Responsibilities
- Producing and checking electrical design packages
- Delivering designs from concept through to handover
• Designing electrical supply infrastructure
- Small power systems
- Lighting systems
- Earthing systems
- Performing cable calculations using manual methods and Trimble Pro Design (Amtech)
- Producing lighting calculations using DIALux evo
- Supporting construction and commissioning activities
- Working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Mentoring and supporting early career engineers
What We're Looking For
Essential
- HNC in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
- Incorporated Engineer status
- Current SC Clearance
- Minimum 3 years' experience delivering electrical design projects within multidisciplinary environments
- Experience producing electrical designs from concept through to project handover
- Working knowledge of relevant engineering standards

- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Desirable
- 5+ years' experience delivering E&I design projects
- Nuclear sector experience

- Experience with radiometric and special instruments
- Knowledge of Sellafield engineering standards and procedures
