The Company is a dynamic Main Contractor with a reputation for delivering high-quality projects for a long list of blue-chip clients. Their sterling reputation has allowed them to branch out into numerous markets including Civil Engineering & Infrastructure, Residential, Commercial & Retail, with project sizes ranging from £20m - £100m. The company puts relationships at the heart of everything they do, reflected in their long-standing partnerships with sub-contractors and a high level of repeat business with clients.

This role sits within the Civils arm of the business, specialising in a range of Civil and Infrastructure projects including highways, bridges, and rail freight.

The Role involves taking commercial lead of a large civils project (up to £25m in value). The focus will revolve around the financial and commercial aspects of the scheme alongside mentoring a Graduate QS. Typical roles and responsibilities include:

  • Issuing and commercial management of sub-contract tender packages.
  • Negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Reviewing contract documents.
  • Managing and maintaining relationships with an established list of supply chain sub-contractors.
  • Attending internal and external commercial review meetings.
  • Aiding with submission of client valuations and managing the variation account.
  • Managing subcontract accounts from procurement to final account.
  • Preparation and assistance with the evaluation and submission of claims for variation works.
