Blaymires Recruitment is representing an established construction company based near Verwood who is searching for a Quantity Surveyor to join the business. The company is well-known for delivering high-quality refurbishment projects across the commercial, residential, education, and healthcare sectors, with project value ranging up to £500k.
The Role
As Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in the commercial management of projects from pre-construction through to final account. You will work closely with project teams to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Full commercial management of multiple projects
- Preparation and management of cost plans, budgets, and forecasts
- Procurement of subcontractors and suppliers
- Valuation of works and management of variations
- Preparation and agreement of interim valuations and final accounts
- Cost reporting and financial control throughout the project lifecycle
- Liaising with clients, consultants, and internal project teams
- Mentoring and supporting junior members of the commercial team where required
Requirements
- Proven experience in a Quantity Surveyor or Estimator/Surveyor role
- Strong background working on refurbishment projects
- Excellent commercial awareness and cost control skills
- Strong negotiation and communication abilities
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Relevant construction or quantity surveying qualification
- Full UK driving licence
