Role Overview

The Trainee Team Leader will supervise and coordinate daily primary processing operations, ensuring:

  • Production targets are met
  • High food safety and hygiene standards
  • Compliance with animal welfare regulations

You will lead a team of operatives while working closely with technical, planning, and engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, supervise, and support primary processing operatives
  • Allocate tasks and ensure team members understand responsibilities
  • Monitor performance and provide coaching or guidance
  • Maintain discipline and ensure company policies are followed
  • Production Management – Ensure daily production targets are achieved safely and efficiently
  • Monitor workflow and adjust staffing or processes to improve productivity
  • Coordinate with other departments such as lairage, packing, and quality control

Health & Safety

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures
  • Conduct safety checks and report hazards or incidents
  • Ensure correct use of PPE

Food Safety & Hygiene

  • Maintain compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards
  • Monitor sanitation of equipment and work areas

Training & Development
